Birthday Boy!
Jeff turned 23 about two weeks ago! (I'm soooo behind in blogging, I know!) Since he had to work all day, he decided he just wanted to have a little celebration with us two for his actual birthday. He told me to surprise him and picked the theme of "FUN." So, I had planned to take him to a park, eat homemade Cafe Rio, play some games or read from The Alliance (which we just finished this past weekend), then go to Macey's and get 50-cent ice cream cones, and go home for dessert/sing a song I wrote for him/movie time. Sounds like some good fun, yes?
Well, here's what actually happened. I slaved away all day (killing my back and swelling up my feet) making pork barbacoa salads, which turned out delectable! Homemade everything, people, including the guac, pico, cilantro-lime ranch dressing, pork, lime-cilantro rice, tortillas, and fried tortilla strips. LOTS of work for one person to do! But it was for dear Jeffy, so it was worth it.
Jeff got tickets to see the Stadium of Fire this year for his birthday! But, I can't resist spoiling this guy, so I got him a game he's been wanting for a while. We've had so much playing it with family already! Someone buy the expansion game(s) quick so we don't have to! ;)
Jeff with his Reese's brownie cupcakes for dessert. Like our impromptu candles? They didn't work to well, but we got a picture of them all lit up at the same time!
The next day we had dinner and games (Dominion!) with Jeff's family. Jeff got Goodwood pork and beef ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. Yum!
The birthday boy with the Reese's Trifle I made. It turned out pretty good!
Me at 30 weeks. My oldest sister kindly is letting me borrow this CUTE maternity dress...until she needs it back!
Jeffrey is so cool. Shall we call this Carpet Art? Maybe he could become a millionaire doing portraits or other masterpieces in peoples' homes!
I crocheted this hooded blanket for my sister-in-law's new baby girl (who is so adorable!). It turned out pretty well! This corner of the blanket has a little flower hood that can go over little Maisie's head. Fun fun!
