Since it's almost April, I decided I'd better post about what we've done these past few months! This post is dedicated to February.First off, I turned 23! I told Jeff to surprise me for my birthday, and he did just that! The first surprise was that his parents came to pick up Grant to babysit for us! That was so wonderful for them to do, especially as he was quite cranky and wouldn't go to sleep. It was nice to not have to worry about baby things for the night, but I did miss him and think of him and how he was doing often!Surprise #2, our new dining table! Last summer, Jeff and I found a hardwood table that was a little cracked and covered with a thick layer of grime, but had potential. We bought it for $20, and started to sand it down. After getting through the gunk, we found it was maple! Pretty pretty. But with my pregnancy being hard and Jeff working, this project was put on the back shelf. Then we had Grant and Jeff was in school...and we made do without a table. I was sooooooo excited when I saw it done! Jeff had stained it beautifully and my dad lacquered it. We now have an official place to eat in our home!
Surprise #3...The Provo Beach Resort! Liz, Amy, and Derrick came to join in the fun! We've never done anything here, just have walked through. We tried our turn on the ropes course, arcade games, and Dance Dance! We won some little rubber ducks to take home to Grant.
No hands! Jeff is a pro!

I'm so bad at Dance Dance! And video games, for that matter...
Uh, I liked my birthday hairdo.Surprise #4 was dinner at Cafe Rio! The usual pork salad on wheat tortilla, please. Jeff sure does know what I like. Thanks for making my birthday fabulous, Babe!
First meal on our table: breakfast casserole! After my real birthday, the celebrations just kept coming! Jeff's family threw me a party. This is the scrumptious cake Kae made for me! So fluffy and fruity and creamy and nutty...delicious!

Then my parents threw me a party! Hawaiian haystacks!
That's a FOUR layer chocolate dobash cake, people! My mom is amazing. And the candles were Derrick's doing. Don't worry, I blew them out in one breath, anyway! Next up, Valentine's Day!
Grant made everyone valentines.

Heart-shaped breakfast pockets.
Monkey from GramMi. It says, "I love you. I love you," from a speaker in its bum.
Jeff spoiled me rotten this year! Flowers, chocolates, Zupas, two beautiful cardigans, and a movie! He is so amazing. Spotlight on Derrick:
Derrick submitted a paper for the BYU Religious Symposium again this year and won another cash prize! We went to the lunch where his award was presented to him. (Little vent here: If you are a woman and you go to BYU, NEVER EVER sleep or do your internet browsing on the couches and chairs in the womens' bathroom, unless you want mothers with infants to get ticked off at you. There are plenty of other couches around on campus! It took me FOREVER to find a place to feed my hungry babe...UGH! Plus, that's really gross. Think of all that's floating around in the air in there!)
After the lunch we Derrick presented his paper. It was so good! Great job, broski!Derrick's birthday was the next day. I made him my first ever REAL cheesecake! It turned out delicious! I just wish my other brother Daniel was here for all the birthday celebrations...I would have made him a cake, too!

Birthday brunch that Jeff and I made.
Beard hat that I crocheted for his present! Turned out AWESOME, I think!
Alright, enough about Derrick. We all know who the REAL star of our family is...GRANT! In February, he started eating solids. He loves cereal, ever since his very first bite!
And that's it. Or, to be more correct, that's all I want to write right now.

I love reading your blog and hearing about you and your family. I love the table. :) We finally got our kitchen table refinished for Christmas. :) Grant is so cute and getting so big.
