Traditional family Irish dancing has upped from two people to three!
Each year we go to the Thomas residence to celebrate their Irish heritage. The stew, scones, Irish soda bread, rainbow fruit dish, and everything else was sooooo delicious! It's fun for me to pretend I'm Irish for a day because green is my favorite color, I get to dine on divine Irish cuisine, we listen to upbeat Celtic music, play Irish games, and laugh light-heartedly with people I love.

Grant had his 6 month check up! Sadly, Jeff could not come with us on this adventure. We had to wait for over an hour before the doctor saw us, and Grant was getting bored and a little fussy. He discovered just how fun the paper on the bed/table thing can be...his quick pudgy hands tore parts of the paper to shreds! I would take paper out of one hand before he could put it in his mouth, but then his other hand would snatch some more paper and it would be in his mouth before I knew it! Grant had FOUR shots, the poor guy. He could hardly catch his breath to scream again, it hurt him so bad.

This is the after-effects of the shots. Fever, fussiness, SCREAMING and crying, throwing up at 1:30 am (both he and I needed a bath after that happened), and a sleepless night trying to cool him down with a damp cloth on his face and neck. Once he scream/cried for an hour straight, and his eyes and face were so red and blotchy. Jeff and I finally drove him around for a long while until he fell asleep. Too bad he woke right up again when we came back home. After many prayers and trying many different methods to put him to sleep, he slept for 6 hours straight. Hallelujah.
Grant's doing much better now...and we had discovered another factor that most likely contributed to all the fussiness. His first tooth broke through this morning! We were snuggling on our bed and Grant was munching on my finger, as he is wont to do. I felt a line on his gums get harder and harder, and then sharper and sharper. I looked in his mouth and lo and behold, a tooth was peeking through his gums! And I think another will shortly make its appearance. Our little boy is growing up so fast! I'm going to miss his gummy grin, but I'm sure he will be a bajillion times cuter with a toothy smile.

Yummy Irish food! I think the next time I see you guys I will teach you a "traditional" Irish dance for your family. I didn't know you guys had a dance every year! Looks like Grandy loved it!
Watch out for bites!
I love half birthdays too! Andrea was born on mine and somehow that made the date seem more special to me. Andrea also was very sick with fever and puked after the six month round of shots. She hasn't for any of the others though. Must me something about that combo.
